Explanation
Filing the ITR online does not complete the process — it must be verified. E-verification can be done within 30 days of filing (reduced from 120 days) via: Aadhaar OTP (most common — links to mobile registered with UIDAI), Net banking (EVC via any listed bank), DMAT account, pre-validated bank account. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is mandatory for companies and audited entities. If not e-verified within 30 days, the ITR is treated as not filed. Physical verification by sending ITR-V to CPC Bengaluru (Blue Ink, Speed Post) is also an option but takes longer. Verify on the income-tax portal before filing.
