AY 2026-27
Budget 2025 introduced a new 25% slab, raised the 87A rebate to ₹12L, and increased the standard deduction to ₹75,000. These are the slabs for the ITR filing season — deadline July 31, 2026.

Section 87A Rebate (Budget 2025): Taxable income ≤ ₹12L → net tax = ₹0. Standard deduction ₹75,000 for salaried. So gross salary up to ₹12,75,000 can be tax-free.

Old Regime Key Deductions: Section 80C (₹1.5L), 80D (₹25K–₹50K), HRA exemption, home loan interest (₹2L), standard deduction (₹50K). Senior citizens (60+) have nil tax up to ₹3L; super seniors (80+) up to ₹5L.
Deadline is July 31, 2026. I calculate both regimes and recommend the better option. Starting ₹399.
